About me

About me

My mission is simple. To create intuitive products that people love to interact with. I have consistently delivered this with success in big tech at eBay, in large agency settings like Havas, in fintech scale-ups with 10x, and now with Virgin Money. A proven leader in UX/Product Design, with 20+ years of experience in delivering user-centric projects from conception to completion.

During my career, I have facilitated workshops, and retrospectives, initiated and run guerrilla research projects, and commissioned and run extensive user testing both in the field and online. I have gained advanced practical experience in the full suite of industry software. With expert wire-framing, prototyping, and UI design skills. A comprehensive understanding of front-end development and close working relations with engineers, product owners, and the full development to production release cycles.

I take pride in my communication and put time into building great relationships, managing up and down with genuine compassion and care for my team members.

I was born in South Africa and grew up in the ‘bush-felt’ near the Kruger National Park, later studied at the University of Pretoria. My first job out of Uni was at a Design Agency in The Netherlands where I learned web design and hand-coding HTML and CSS. I’m fluent in English, Afrikaans, and Dutch, with intermediate French.

Art is still a passion of mine, and I’ve exhibited locally and internationally; see my art portfolio.

#GoodVibes

In 2015 I co-founded MotivateTee; a motivational fashion brand - aiming to spread positive vibes, one tee at a time.  The photo below is from our promo shoot, I’m in the middle. 🤗

Colour Connect

An artist at heart I’ve never stopped doing art and in April 2016 I exhibited my work in a solo exhibition called Colour Connect, at The Gallery on the Corner, Battersea - please see my Art Portfolio for more details as well as previous exhibitions.
